Large Capodimonte-Style Urn

This striking Capodimonte-style porcelain vase dates to the mid-20th century and showcases the ornate style for which the Italian makers of Naples were famed.

Decorated with a finely modelled female bust framed by garlands of applied flowers and flanked by cherubs, the vase is richly adorned with ivy and acanthus leaf motifs highlighted in gilt. The bold, sculptural form and vivid hand-painted details capture the theatrical character of Capodimonte revival pieces.

Bearing the traditional crown-over-N mark to the base, this is a statement example of Italian Capodimonte style artistry, ideal as both a decorative centrepiece and a collector’s piece.

It is certainly a large statement piece and rather heavy!
