Victorian Mahogany Chess Table

A charming Victorian Chess Table dated circa 1870.  It is beautifully crafted in Mahogany. The elegant oval top features an inlaid chessboard at its centre, surrounded by further decorative inlaid detailing, showcasing the quality craftsmanship typical of the period.

The table retains its original tilt-top mechanism, allowing the top to be raised vertically for easy movement or convenient storage when not in use, a very practical feature.

It stands on an elegant three-point pedestal base, giving the piece a refined and balanced presence. Both functional and decorative, it works equally well as a games table or occasional table.

A lovely and versatile example of Victorian English furniture with timeless appeal.
