Here we have an authentic early 20th-century wall-mounted telephone, full of character and charm.

Crafted in solid oak with a beautifully grained case, this piece features its original twin external bells and a working side crank handle used to operate the internal magneto. Unlike earlier fixed-mouthpiece models, this example has a combined handset with both earpiece and mouthpiece, making it a slightly later and more user friendly design from the evolution of early telephones.

When in use, the crank would be turned to generate a signal to the telephone exchange, after which the handset would be used to speak and listen. These were commonly found in homes, shops, and rural properties before the widespread adoption of dial telephones.

The phone remains in good original condition, showing expected wear consistent with age. It measures 48 cm tall.

A fantastic decorative piece and conversation starter.
