Rare vintage chrome plated Dunhill table lighter in the form of a Sabre F-86 jet fighter which was flown by American Pilots during the Korean war.
The Dunhill 'Jet Plane' Lighter is depicting the famous North American Aviation F-86 Sabre - a transonic jet fighter aircraft. The Sabre jet was the first to set the official world speed record of 570 mph (920 km/h) in September 1948.
Dunhill manufactured this stylised table lighter as a commemorative item and produced it from 1954 - 1961
The flint strike mechanism is activated by a push-button on the jet's front nose which opens the cockpit to ignite the lighter's petrol wick .
It is in excellent working condition, a few minor scratches but otherwise intact with a smooth mechanical movement.
